Such a great point that we’re pretty much conditioned to equate busy with success. I’m a stay at home mom who homeschools and can still prioritize time to read, write, and exercise. It’s not always easy but it’s possible because our schedule isn’t booked solid from wake up to bedtime.

I always say that my life is boring, but actually it’s just not busy. I can’t imagine having all my time filled with stuff to do and people to see. Lately I’ve been also trying to work out how to create a life that’s even more simple and even more mine. I’m so done with the society of consumerism and always striving for more. I wish we’d all wake up and see the damage it’s making.

This is SO good. Timely, important, prophetic, even. Thank you for naming what we all 'feel in our bones." And I love how you led with your five pillars. I can readily embrace 4 of those 5, actually, and it has me thinking hard about what I need to do to join in the 'fight tooth and nail' for the gift of living fully on those pillars. Have you read/heard of Essentialism by Greg McKeown? I just began - but hitting all the same notes for sure.

Really enjoyed today's piece, and I'm right there with you. So much has changed out of our control over the last few years. I appreciate the simplicity that you speak of, as I lead my life the same way now, but it's a 180 from where I was pre-Covid. Thanks for sharing your Friday musings.
